Inverse hook method

W.A. van Wijngaarden, K.D. Bonin, W. Happen Inverse hook method for measuring oscillator strengths for transitions between excited atomic states. Hyperf. Interact. 38, 471 (1987)... [Pg.377]

The Hook method yields very accurate, rehable relative transition probabilities. A laser-based related technique, the inverse Hook method , has also been introduced [9.153]. [Pg.325]

In this chapter the vibration of a diatomic molecule will be reviewed because of its importance. Consider a molecular model where the nuclei are represented by point masses and interatomic bonds are represented by massless springs which follow Hooke s law. The form and frequencies of the vibrations are determined by classical methods. During the vibration the internuclear distance changes sinusoidally but the center of gravity remains stationary. This means that at any time during the vibration the nuclear displacements are inversely proportional to the masses. The diatomic vibrational frequency, v (in sec , is given by... [Pg.172]
