Use of red iron oxide in plastics has increased as cadmium reds and lead molybdate oranges have been restricted in their use. In combination with the appropriate organic red toners, red iron oxide can be used to cover some of the same color space formerly occupied by cadmium- or molybdate-containing formulations. The red iron oxide component of the organic-inorganic approach also lowers the cost of the formulation, opacifies the formulation, and offers an increment of UV stability to the formulation. [Pg.130]

V. INORGANIC APPROACHES TO ANION BINDING A. Neutral, Lewis Acidic Receptors... [Pg.13]

As we have illustrated, metal based systems have introduced a huge variety of receptors to the field of anion binding, which function through a wide range of molecular interactions. This inorganic approach to anion binding has addressed several very important goals ... [Pg.85]

In an almost purely inorganic approach, surfactant stabilized metal or bimetal clusters were irradiated with electron beams directly, leading to a partial destruction of the organic stabilizer. The unexposed colloids and the destroyed organic stabilizers were then removed under ultrasonic rinsing. [Pg.120]
