Let (N 5) represent the possible formulas for benzenoids (( -polyhexes). When IV is given, which restrictions must be imposed on 5 And conversely when S is given, which restrictions are to be imposed on iV The answers to these questions are obtained from the known inequalities

In addition, n and s should again have the same parity. The relations (69) and (70) are not perfect inasmuch as the upper and lower bounds are not always realized in polyhexes. However, this is the case in general for y = 0, 1 and 2. These properties are similar to those of eqns. (57) and (60).
