Immunotoxicology of haptens and nucleic acids

Such compounds usually are too small to be immunogenic, and they are thought to act as a hapten or prohapten. Testing of immune system adverse events can include in vivo assays, but in vitro assays are also to be considered when analyzing potential immunotoxicological effects of nucleic acids or haptens.
