Diamino-2-phenyl imidazolium-chlorid kann auch durch Umsetzung von 2-Phenyl-imidazol mit 0-(2,4,6-Trimethyl-benzolsulfonyl)-hydroxylamin und Natriumhydrogencarbonat als N-Aminicrungs-Reagens in Tetrahydrofuran und anschlieBenden Anionen-Austausch hergestellt werden678. 

The 2,4-diamino-l,3,5-triazine (100) when heated in the presence of polymerization inhibitors, under reduced pressure, formed the vinyltriazine (101) 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole was eliminated <85JAP60181077>. The same product (101) was obtained from (102) with aqueous sodium hydroxide <85JAP59216879>. The reaction can be reversed, in that vinyltriazine (101) reacts with 2-phenyl-imidazole to form the diaminotriazine (103) equivalent to (100) (Scheme 24) <85JAP6084283>.
