Imidazo-fused quinazolines

Imidazo-fused quinazolines have been prepared from A (allylcarbamoyl)-anthra-nilonitriles by ultrasonically treated BY [449], an approach that has also been used for the synthesis of other anellated heterocycles [450] In addition, BY catalyzed the regioselective cycloaddition of nitrile oxides 308 (Fig. 76) to cinnamic esters 309 to afford predominantly 310 (BY9) [451]. Similar reactions have been investigated employing vinyl pyridines [451,452]. 

Syntheses of fused mesoionic heterocycles such as [l,2,3]triazolo[l,5-a]-quinoline, -quinazoline, -quinoxaline, and -benzotriazine derivatives have been described <02T3185>. Cyclizations of alkyl 2-benzoylamino-(4,5-dicyano-1 //-1,2,3-triazol-1 -yl)propenoates gave [1,2,3]triazolo[l, 5-a]pyrazines <02H(56)353>. Reaction of triethyl N-( 1 -ethy 1-2-methy 1-4-nitro-l//-imidazol-5-yl)phosphorimidate with aryl isocyanates provided a route to 2-aryI-2//,4//-imidazo[4,5-fif][l,2,3]triazoles <02JCS(P 1)1968>. 2-(A,A-Diphenylamino)-4-hydrazino-6-... 

Many ring-fused imidazole derivatives have been synthesized by various methods. Domino Michael addition retro-ene reaction of 2-alkoxyiminoimidazolidines and acetylene carboxylates provided a synthesis of 2,3-dihydroimidazo[l,2-a]pyrimidin-5-(l//)-ones <05T5303>. A single step synthesis of 3,5-dialkyl-9-nitroimidazo[l,2-c]quinazolin-2(3//)-ones from simple carbonyl compounds, primary amines or amino acid methyl esters and 2-azido-5-nitrobenzonitrile has been published <05TL5778>. Diels-Alder reaction of azadienes and benzimidazole-4,7-diones afforded imidazo[4,5-g ]quinoline-4,9-dione derivatives <05EJ01903>. Reaction between isocyanides and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of 4,5-diphenyl-l,3-dihydro-2//-imidazol-2-one provided a one-pot synthesis of 5//-imidazo[2,l-ft][l,3]oxazine derivatives <05T2645>.
