Image slicer

For image slicers, contiguous slices of the sky are re-arranged end-to-end to form the pseudo-slit. In that case it is obvious that the sky can be correctly sampled (according to the Nyquist sampling theorem) by the detector pixels on which the slices are projected in the same way as required for direct imaging. [Pg.175]

Fig. 5 shows the result of a phantom experiment. The phantom with a cylinder marker was reconstructed by the US probe calibrated with our method, at 7cm imaging depth and lOMHz central frequency. A 5DOF needle was tracked by the EM tracking system in real time. The reconstructed phantom and the tracked needle are shown in 3D sheer (www.slicer.org). [Pg.718]
