I Buspirone

I Buspirone available (5-HTia receptor partial agonist). Others in development (ipsapirone, gepirone) have not come to market. 

I Buspirone causes a complex cascade of events in 5-HT system iiutially effect at somatodendritic receptor causes decrease in 5-HT release but effects nutigated by postsynaptic receptor agonism chronic treatmerrt (>2 weeks) resrrlts in retitm to normal of 5-HT neuronal firing and release. Combined with direct postsynaptic effect may lead to overall increase in 5-HT activity. 

I Buspirone has been shown to reduce anxiety and drinking behaviour.
