Mobility of oxidised mthenium species on alumina therefore led to aggregates of Ru02 and larger metal particles after reduction, unlike the case of titania. Nevertheless in both instances there were increases in TOP caused by O/LTR, so similar surface reorganisations must have been responsible. Its nature however remains unclear.
