A simple example is the H exchange in an T] -alkene metal hydride. The NMR experiment may be done by labeling either the hydride or alkene hydrogens, and this leads to different relationships between the NMR rate constant and the rate constant for the H shift. The labeling might be done by isotope substitution or by selective spin saturation or inversion in a pulsed NMR experiment. [Pg.437]
