Hydrocracking catalysts sulfidic catalyst

A-CAT [Activity adjustment by ammonia adsorption] A method for pre-sulfiding and passivating hydrocracking catalysts. Developed by EUROCAT in 1989. [Pg.10]

The acid component of a hydrocracking catalyst can be an amorphous oxide, e.g., a silica-alumina ora zeolite, eg., USY. This component usually serves as a support for the metal compound responsible for the hydrogenation function. The metal compound can be a noble metal, e.g., Pt or Pd, or a mixture of sulfides, e.g., of Ni/Mo, NiAV, or Co/Mo. The relative amounts of the respective compounds have to be thoroughly balanced to achieve an optimum performance. [Pg.114]

A bituminous coal from Utah (Table I) was used in this work. The coal oil (Table II) used was obtained from a bituminous coal by hydrogenation using zinc chloride as the catalyst in a semi-continuous reactor system. Anthracene, phenanthrene, WS9 and NIS used were pure grade chemicals of over 99% purity. H-zeolon was a synthetic mordenite cracking catalyst and was supplied by Norton Chemical Company. NIS-H-zeolon was prepared by spraying nickel on H-zeolon with a subsequent sulfiding operation. NIS-WS -SiO -A1 O. catalyst used was a commercial hydrocracking catalyst. Analyses of reactants and products were done by standard methods. [Pg.88]

Noble Metal Catalysts. The most frequently mentioned noble metal hydrocracking catalysts are platinum and palladium on silica-alumina. The unsulfided noble metal catalysts have high hydrogenation activity and lower acidity than the supported metal sulfides discussed previously. [Pg.52]
