HMQC-TOCSY and Other Hyphenated Inverse-Detected 2D Experiments

6 HMQC-TOCSY and Other Hyphenated Inverse-Detected 2D Experiments [Pg.36]

Heteronucleus-detected heteronuclear relay experiments (Bolton 1982 Bolton and Bodenhausen 1982 Bax 1983a Kessler et al. 1983) first addressed the problem just considered. Unfortunately, these experiments were difficult to optimize when a range of vicinal couplings was involved in a fashion similar to that of the relayed COSY or RCOSY experiment (Bax and Drobny 1985). Optimization problems have been circumvented in the homonuclear case by the development of an experiment variously known as TOCSY or HOHAHA (Braunschweiler and Ernst 1983 Davis and Bax 1985a,b). The first effort to combine isotropic mixing with sorting protons via heteronuclear shift was reported by Bax et al. (1985a) in a heteronucleus-detected experiment. The first attempted proton-detected heteronuclear relay experiment was reported by Bolton (1985). [Pg.37]
