High oxygen partial pressure

By operating at high oxygen partial pressures on OAOR-modified silver, data on reaction rates could be gathered which previously could be obtained in a similar way only under low-pressure condihons (15 vol.-% ethylene, 0.2-3.5 hPa oxygen parhal pressure, balance nitrogen 4 bar 290 °C) ]4]. 

The next two chapters discuss two supporting components of the fuel cell stack —specifically, interconnects and sealants. The interconnect conducts the electrical current between the two electrodes through the external circuit and is thus simultaneously exposed to both high oxygen partial pressure (air) and low oxygen partial pressure (fuel), which places stringent requirements on the materials stability. Ceramic interconnects have been used, but metallic interconnects offer promise... 

At high oxygen partial pressures an equilibrium is established between the gas phase oxygen, interstitial oxygen ions and electron holes and conductivity is predominantly p-type due to electron-hole transfer. 

Kinetic investigations of dibenzyl ether oxidation shows that like benzyl alcohol oxidation, there are the same two areas of process parameters with different reaction kinetics area A with "low" acidity ([HC104]=5.0-5.8 M) and high oxygen partial pressure (( 0.5-1.0)x lO Pa), and area B with "high" acidities [HC104]= 5.8-6 6 M) and low oxygen pressures ((0.05-0.5)x 10 Pa). The main kinetic features of oxidation, that is rate dependence on concentrations and temperatures, both for dibenzyl ether and benzaldehyde are one and the same.
