Hexaalkoxy Tellurium Compounds

Hexamethoxy tellurium was prepared by the addition of orthotelluric acid to a solution of diazomethane in diethyl ether .  [Pg.120]

Hexamethoxy Tellurium A solution of freshly prepared diazomethane in dry diethyl ether is cooled to 0°, finely powdered orthotelluric acid is added to the solution, and the mixture is allowed to warm to 0°. The mixture is kept at 20° for 24 h and then filtered to remove unreacted orthotelluric acid. The diethyl ether is evaporated under moisture-free conditions. The residue is recrystallized from absolute diethyl ether or, alternatively, sublimed. The white crystalline product has an irritating odor m.p. 77°. [Pg.121]

Tris[l,2-ethylenedioxy]tellurium was obtained by heating tellurium hexafluoride with an excess of 1,2-dihydroxyethane in the presence of sodium fluoride in a sealed tube at 80° for seven days.  [Pg.121]

Orthotelluric acid, l,3-dihydrobenzo[c]tellurophene 1,1-diiodide, potassium 0,0-dialkyl dithiophosphate, and triethylamine in dichloromethane were stirred for two hours. The resulting solution was poured into water to precipitate a white solid that was proven by X-ray crystallographic analysis to be an orthotellluric acid derivative .  [Pg.121]

Hexamethoxy tellurium dissolves in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and reacts to form methoxy tellurium fluorides.  [Pg.121]
