Heterogeneous separations screens

Every separation process divides one or more feeds into at least two products of different composition. Separation processes that operate on heterogeneous feeds usually involve screening or settling. Those that involve physically homogeneous mixtures must use more subtle means to create products of different composition. These latter processes are pervasive in industry they consume large amounts of energy and require sophisticated research and design.

It is always important to remember that the process of evolution happens on a population-scale any measure of an individual s fimess is a relative quantification based upon the competitiveness of that particular variant against the other populations present. However, relationships may emerge between two variants that cause the exhibited phenotype to depend upon the presence of both strains. To observe such an evolutionary event it becomes important to maintain a level of heterogeneity of the culture, but have distinct separation of variants during the screening process.
