Herbicides environmental damage

Strategies used in the transformation of the weed to treatment map can take account of environmental as well as economic factors. For example, in areas of the field where the weed pressure has been assessed to be low, it may be appropriate to use a herbicide that is relatively environmentally benign but with a limited efficacy, whereas in areas assessed to be at high risk of weed competition, a more efficacious but more environmentally damaging herbicide could be used. [Pg.67]
