Heptose de novo synthesis

In 2010, a short and enantioselective de novo synthesis of orthogonally protected L-glycero-D-manno-hsptose building blocks was described by Seeberger and coworkers 

Recently, Majewski et al. [6b] have applied this de novo strategy for the stereodi-vergent synthesis of o-glycero-fi-D-aHo-heptose and L-glycero-P-L-allo-heptose.
