An example for an oxo-bridged transition metal complex is hemiporphyrazin-atoiron [HpFeO] , of which the structure has been determined (see Fig. 5). The compound crystallizes in space group P 2/n. Distorted hemiporphyrazinatoiron units stack along the b-axis and are linked into polymeric, uniformly spaced, linear chains by axially bound oxygen bridges. Doping does not lead to an increase in conductivity [54]. 

Porphyrins, phthalocyanines, hemiporphyrazines and tetraazaannulenes were intensively investigated as cyclic ligands for polymer metal complexes [31,32]. The polymeric chelates are generally obtained as insoluble brown-to-black powders. In some cases for device construction film formation during the preparation process was achieved. 

In few cases linear chain structured polymeric metal complexes were prepared. A linear polymeric phthalocyanine 60 was obtained as film by the electrochemical polymerization of the corresponding monomer [260]. The synthesis of structural uniform ladder polymers 61 based on the hemiporphyrazine structures was achieved by a repetitive Diels-Alder reaction [261,262]. Recently, linear oligomeric porphyrines covalently connected via meso-meso-positions up to 128 units were synthesized [263].
