Helicobasidium mompa

C15H20O4, Mr 264.32, orange red needles, mp. 190-192 °C, uv 430 nm (C2H5OH), optically active pigment from the fungus Helicobasidium mompa. H. is formed biosynthetically from famesyl diphosphate. The 5-deoxy compound, helicobasin, C15H20O3, Mr 248.32, yellow needles, mp. 194-195 °C, is isolated from the same fungus. [Pg.284]

The lagopodins are closely related to helicobasidin (429), a pigment from Helicobasidium mompa, the biosynthesis of which has been extensively studied 81, 655). [Pg.188]
