In all steps of a heating or cooling curve problem, the signs must be the same. 

Temperature Thermometry May also be described as heating or cooling curves. 

Up to now, we have calculated one step in a heating or cooling curve. However, a problem may require a combination of steps in which a substance may change state and then the new state undergoes a temperature change followed by another change of state. When the temperature of a substance is changing and not its state, we need to use the heat equation, which includes the AT. 

Thermometry, as the simplest technique of thermal analysis, involves the measurement of temperature. Even more useful is the simultaneous determination of time.
