The total heat to be removed from the pebble bed was estimated by divid ing the bed into several zones and calculating the heat production from the curves in Fig 45 B By this method it was found that the total heat pro duced in the pebble bed is about 420 kw with the reactor operating at 45,000 kw [Pg.166]
