Other methods for preparing tertiary arsiaes have been employed, but they have limited usefiilness. These methods include the cleavage of quaternary arsonium compounds (68), the cyclodehydrohalogenation of haloarsines (69), the reaction of dia2onium salts with arsenic trichloride in the presence of a metal such as 2inc or iron (70), and the disproportionation of halo- or dihaloarsines (71). 

There have been several reviews that provide a comprehensive coverage of the synthesis and reactivity of organoarsenic compounds that contain tricoordinate arsenic with an As-N bond. The acyclic aminoarsines, R As(NR2)3 , are routinely synthesized by the aminoly-sis of a haloarsine or transamination of another aminoarsine (equations 64-68). 

Compounds with As—P bonds are also formed from haloarsines and tertiary phosphines 317). 

Haloarsines are obtained from a number of cleavage reactions of compounds with As—As bonds. Halogens react very readily with diarsines, a result which has been of value in characterizing these compounds 308).
