H2 exchange with Hs species of oxides

Temperature-programmed isotopic exchanges (TPIE) of H2 with hydroxyl groups of several oxides were carried out by Hall et a/., 1 1 and more recently, by Martin and Duprez. In both studies, the temperature was raised at 2°Cmin during TPIE. The activation energies were [Pg.160]

The values of E obtained by Eq. (46) depend essentially on Tmax- For the determination of the activation energies, Martin and Duprez directly used the beginning of the curves of the exchange by plotting the values of x at different temperatures (T Tmax) in Arrhenius coordinates. The values of E obtained by this procedure are more dependent on the shape of the curves at low temperatures, than on the position of the rate maximum. [Pg.161]

A detailed investigation of the hydrogen exchange on magnesia was reported by Shido et who studied the exchange of H2 with [Pg.163]

Agron et a/. have shown there were essentially two types of hydroxyl groups on Zr02 linear OHs (Zr-OH) and bridged OHs (Zr2-OH). l These hydroxyl groups can be easily exchanged by H20 at 40°C. Kondo et have reported that zirconia was also able to dissociate H2 at low [Pg.163]

In most cases, exchange experiments were carried out by using [Pg.163]
