This recommendation is applicable for most conditions encountered in the use of this type mast. There will be exceptions where location clearance, ground conditions, or other unusual circumstances require special considerations. Figure 4-5 shows a recommended guying pattern that may be used under general conditions in the absence of an authorized API manufacturer s recommendations. Guy lines should be maintained in good condition, free from rust, corrosion, frays, and kinks. Old sand line is not recommended for guy lines.

We can see a distressing, but not too unfamiliar a pattern emerging here, one wrong move leading to another, to another, and so on. In wise-guy circles this is sometimes known as the Nixon principle, if two wrongs don t make it right, try three. In power, it is called symptomatic troubleshooting.

Chronotherapeutics, the study of pharmacological response as a function of physiological mood, physical activity, biological rhythms etc. has redefined dmg-delivery strategies in the treatment of diabet, ulcers, cardiac attacks, asthma, smoking cessation and other addictive illnesses (Cullander and Guy 1992). Since 1999 Breimer affirmed that the translation of a PD (pharmakodynamic)-dependent delivery pattern into improved therapeutic outcome is a major challenge for dmg-delivery research (Breimer 1999). 

Having seen this pattern repeated time and again in different plants I work with, I wonder if there is a ghost fourth shift that creeps in between shifts and undoes all the thoughtful cleanup and setup that the off-going guys (salt of the earth, each and every one of them) had so carefully done.
