Guarding of Thermostats

Product that is of high value or prone to damage should be spotted up and out of the way of powered equipment. It can also be placed in an out-of-the-way area for protection. 

Metal mesh baskets can also be used to store valuable or delicate parts. 

Powered hand tools are used in warehouses as a matter of course. Hand drills, power saws, banding machines, and staple guns are typical power tools. Here are a few notes of interest regarding the safety of workers when using this equipment.

Guarding enhancement through the use of color helps provide awareness for a particular hazard. Color alone, however, will not prevent an injury. The employee must first recognize the color and make a decision in his/her mind as to what hazard it represents. The color could be on a fixed barrier or the color could be generated from a light. Color and lights to highlight hazards help make the warehouse safer.
