Grindelia spp

SA (Fig. 63.3), also called 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, is used chiefly in the preparation of aspirin and other pharmaceutical products. Salicylic acid occurs in such diverse plants as Salix spp., Sauromatum guttatum, Grindelia spp., 2LnAMespilus germanica and is also produced by the bacterium Pseudomonas cepacia [51]. [Pg.1961]
