Graphitized carbon capacity ratios

Table 5.3 Molecular properties and capacity ratios measured on different graphitized carbon columns. FS, HB, ES, and VW represent the energy value of the final (optimized) structure, the hydrogen-bonding energy, the electrostatic energy, and the van der Waals energy of the complexes (kcal mol ), respectively, fs, hb, es, and vw represent the same energies for each analyte. Reproduced by permission of Springer, ref. 25. Table 5.3 Molecular properties and capacity ratios measured on different graphitized carbon columns. Tatsumi et al. found the relationship between and the capacity in the potential range from 0 to 0.25 V vs. Li/LF for soft carbons. The stands for the volume ratio of ordered-stacking graphitic crystallites in carbon. In contrast, Dahn et al. used P parameter to indicate the probability of random stacking between the adjacent two graphene layers. It appears that P = - P. Moreover, Tstsumi et al. correlated the capacity delivered in the potential range from 0.25 to 1.3 V vs. Li/LP with 1 - which is the fraction ratio of turbostratic structure. The relationships between 1 - P with the reversible capacities at different potential ranges is shown in Fig. 3.6. Fujimoto et al. calculated the projected probability function and... [Pg.57]
