Glucuronidase in liver

As Fig. 4 shows, the accumulation of glucuronidase in livers of DBA mice parallels liver growth, whereas mice of the C3H strain accumulate enzyme activity only until the twelfth postnatal day, after which a progressive decline in specific activity occurs. It should be pointed out that the disparity in adult levels of enzyme between the two phenotypes not only represents the failure of C3H mice to accumulate enzyme after day 12, but also an initial deficiency in C3H levels at birth.
