Glucoamylase affinity chromatography

The purification was by chromatography on DEAE cellulose. Electrophoresis of the purified enzyme and the original filtrate are shown in Fig. (27) [71]. Rabbits were immunized with the pure glucoamylase [72]. Antibodies in the serum were purified by affinity chromatography. The affinity pattern for glucoamylase purification is shown in Fig. (28). The affinity chromatography of glucoamylase on (4-mercuribenzoyl)cellulose has been examined. 

Porcine-serum a-D-glucosidase exhibits glucoamylase activity. A simple procedure for isolating the glucoamylase-maltase complex from rabbit intestines by affinity chromatography on Sephadex G-200 has been reported. Other Sephadex gels did not bind the enzyme to any significant extent.
