General Rules for the Proposed Fractal Notation

Subscripts refer to the junctures or branching points in the molecule. If the branch point is a tetrahedral carbon, the subscript is omitted. When the branch point is identical throughout the structure, the atom (or group) is only cited once as a subscript. If, however, there are multiple branch points, they are sequentially listed for the outermost — innermost and separated by a period. 

Connector groups are listed again from the outermost — innermost and enclosed in parentheses as well as separated by periods. 

Core is denoted without parentheses at the far right and can be omitted if it is identical to the juncture or branching atom or group.
