General geology, country rocks and tectonic setting 

Many Kuroko deposits are distributed in the Hokuroku di.strict. Northeast Honshu (Fig. 1.9). Therefore, general geology and stratigraphy of the Hokuroku district is briefly described below mainly following T. Sato (1974, 1977), Tanimura et al. (1983) and Ishikawa (1991) (Table 1.3).
