Like the reactors, each wash vessel is used three times in the campaign. These vessels are the current cycle time bottleneck of the process and they determine the minimum time between consecutive batches. This can be visualized by the fact that there is no idle time between the consecutive batches of the wash vessels. 

For the sake of simplicity, let us assume that only three different polymer resins are to be produced (AA, BB, and CC). Resin A A corresponds to the base case recipe described in the previous section. The recipes of resins BB and CC include exactly the same processing steps but have different durations for key operations, as shown in Table 15.5.
