Galore, Pussy

With Bond a prisoner of Goldfinger, it is Pussy Galore who actually saves the day. Pussy exchanges the deadly canisters for canisters of something harmless, thus saving tens of thousands of lives at Fort Knox ... 

Thus, of all the brave women in the Bond series, Pussy Galore and Pam Bouvier seem to be the only ones who save Bond without Bond ever returning the favor. And since Pam doesn t have to undergo a sexual conversion to be effective, she gets my vote as the most competent of the Bond women. 

Bond s analysis of why the lesbian Tilly Masterton is more interested in Pussy Galore than she is in him Goldfinger. 197) details this anxiety about the blurring of gender roles and blames it for the rise in the visibihty of homosexuality ... 

This is no time to be rescued, says Bond at the end of the film. That s right. Because having accomplishing his most important mission— liberating himself (albeit temporarily) from his own Oedipus Complex— Bond is free to enjoy the ultimate reward pussy galore. 

The main Bond girl is, of course. Pussy Galore. Honor Blackman, best known at the time for her role in the British program The Avengers, is introduced rather late in the him but clearly makes her mark with her name, her appearance and the fact that she is immune to Bond s charms. However, he does break through her icy exterior and converts her to heterosexuality with a single encounter in a horse barn. (Nobody does it better )...
