Gallosilicate sodalite

A similar result has been observed by Newsam and Vaughan for the gallosilicate sodalite Newsam, J. M. Jorgensen, J. D. Tkolites 1987,7,569-573. [Pg.312]

In spite of the variety of methods now available for the synthesis of alkali metal clusters in zeolites, the range of zeolites in which clusters have been identified remains small. On the basis of diffuse reflectance spectra, Liu and Thomas [36] reported the presence of K + in potassium zeolite L (LTL), and NaJ and Na + in both sodium mordenite (MOR) and the clay laponite, after irradiation with far-UV light. Ikemoto et al. [37] used microoptical spectroscopy to examine the adsorption of potassium in potassium mordenite. With regard to frameworks other than aluminosilicates, Na has been reported in aluminogermanate and gallosilicate sodalites (SOD) [38,39] and in gallosilicate zeolite Y (FAU) [36]. [Pg.316]

In the crystallization of gallosilicates at 90 °C, we observed that every reaction mixture with a final pH higher than about 12 yielded a sodalite structure, whereas a faujasite-type material crystallized below pH 12. [Pg.75]

Temperature. Temperature influences the polymerization-depolymerization equilibrium. Higher temperatures cause denser materials to crystallize. Selbin and Mason (23) reported that they had to use a lower temperature to obtain the gallosilicate analog of zeolite X. Temperatures above 70 °C caused a gallosilicate of sodalite structure to crystallize. Countless examples for the temperature effect are given in the literature (see, e.g., Ref. 2). [Pg.79]

Protons associated with water molecules have been located in a number of systems including sodaUte [86,87], and NAT [88], ABW [74,77] and ANA framework [89] gallosilicates. Hydroxylic proton pomticms have been determined in sodalite [86,90] and in a steam-treated zeolite rho [91,92]. The flexibility of the RHO-framewoik has also been further probed by PND studies cm cation-exchanged matoials [93,94] and cm ammonium-ion exchanged and heat-treated zeolite rho [95]. [Pg.186]
