Gallbladder effect. Seed oil, administered orally to 11 young normocholesterolemic males at a dose of 100 g/day, was active. The subjects received 3 weeks of a low-fat diet followed by 3 weeks of a diet enriched with 100 g/daily of olive oil. Mean total cholesterol, total apolipoprotein (apo) B, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and triglycerides decreased significantly after the olive oil diet. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, apo A-1, cholesterol saturation of bile, and gallbladder volumes were unchanged . 

Functional ultrasound of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract includes studies of the distal and proximal stomach, gastric and gallbladder emptying, gastric distribution, Gl wall motility, and flow of luminal contents in healthy subjects as well as in patients. Furthermore, it includes the effect of different meals and pharmacological intervention. 

Biliary tract Nine subjects with Prader-Willi syndrome (mean age 15 years) received either octreotide 30 mg or saline intramuscularly every 4 weeks for 16 weeks. After a 24-week wash-out period, they then received the alternative therapy. Three developed gallbladder abnormalities on ultrasound by the end of the octreotide phase two went on to have cholecystectomy 12-24 months later [39 ]. 

Peppermint leaf and oil are subjects of German therapeutic monographs leaves in infusion, or extract for spastic complaints of the gastrointestinal tracts as well as gallbladder and bile ducts, at average daily dose of 3-6 g of the leaves 5-15 g tincture. ...
