Gadolinium salts

H2S04, and of terbium chloride in H20. Data were collected on some gadolinium salts as well. 

In the current invention, the author converted 1,4,7,10-tetra-carboxylhydroxy-1,4,7, 10-tetraazacyclododecane into the gadolinium salt by reacting with gadolinium(III)oxide.

Properties Colorless crystals. D 3.01 (15C), purities up to 99.9% gadolinium salt. Slightly soluble in hot water more soluble in coldwater. 

Hydroxide, Gd(OH)3, gelatinous precipitate, prepd by the action of alkali or ammonium hydroxide on a soln of a gadolinium salt. Absorbs CO, from the air. 

The gadolinium salts that are used as contrast media in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and that have been assigned International Non-proprietary Names (INNs) by the WHO are listed in Table 2.
