This chapters provides details of an optimal fuzzy logic control, a clipped optimal control, a d5Uiamic inversion control and integrator back-stepping based control for MR damper monitoring. Next section provides details of MR damper modeling. 

Representative control devices and their applications have been presented. Then, mathematical formulations and simulation of controlled structures have been illustrated. Control algorithms suitable for civil structure inspired by the classical control theory were presented. Optimal control, LQR, pole assignment, sliding mode control, H2, fuzzy control, clipped-optimal control, and skyhook/ground hook control algorithms were briefly described. It was shown that with the help of modem technology, it is possible to control civil stractures in order to protect them from earthquake excitations.
