Furan tetrahydro-, chlorination

The initial halogenated polymeric materials were obtained from the polyvinyl chloride-polyvinylidene chloride, PVC-PVDC (Rovil fiber) and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, PVC. Dehydrochlorination was performed in the presence of a base solution in a polar organic solvent (dimethylsulfoxide, acetone or tetrahydro-furane). The products were filtered and extracted with water in a Soxhlet apparatus until all chloride ions were removed. Thermal treatment was performed in a tubular furnace in CO flow at 10 cm min". ... [Pg.34]

The stoichiometric equivalents of halogen fluorides, i.e. chlorine monofluoride, bromine monofluoride and iodine monofluoride, have found a wide application in addition reactions to double bonds. The equivalents are obtained by reacting A -haloamides or free halogens in combination with hydrogen fluoride or its salts as the source of fluoride ions. The reactions proceed under mild conditions at — 80 to 20 "C in anhydrous hydrofluoric acid or diethyl ether, tetrahydro-furan, dichloromethane or chloroform mainly by electrophilic addition with Markovnikov-type regioselectivity (anti addition).26-28... [Pg.238]

The pale brown, paramagnetic compounds are moderately air-sensitive and should be stored under a dinitrogen atmosphere. In air, solid samples can be kept without apparent decomposition, but solutions rapidly decompose. All the dicarbonyl complexes are soluble in chlorinated solvents and tetrahydro-furan but only sparingly soluble in acetonitrile, alcohols, diethyl ether, and hydrocarbons. Solution infrared samples prepared in air show an additional peak at 1980 cm due to the formation of Tp WOX(CO) during sample preparation. [Pg.225]

The golden, highly crystalline material is air stable. It is paramagnetic having MEFF 5.10 BAl. as measured by the nmr technique. It is soluble in tetrahydro-furan, aromatic solvents, and chlorinated solvents. [Pg.94]

In the series of rubrosides A-H, also isolated from SUiquariaspongia japonica, the glycosylated part is identical to those in the corapotmds mentioned above, but the chlorinated end of the fatty chain is cyclized to tetrahydro-furan (Sata et al, 1999b). Natural derivatives of tetramic acid have been foimd (Royles, 1995). [Pg.689]
