Fruit coat fats

Fruit coat fats contain mainly palmitic, oleic, and sometimes linoleic acids.

In packaging, Ecoflex can be used as a coating material to make paper, cardboard or starch-based foam tougher and protect against fat, moisture and temperature variations. These are useful properties for hamburger boxes, coffee cups, packaging for meat, fish, poultry, fruit or vegetables, food dishes and fast-food boxes. 

Waxes are water-insoluble and not as easily hydrolyzed as fats and oils consequently, they often occur in nature as protective coatings on feathers, fur, skin, leaves, and fruits. Sebum, a secretion of the sebaceous glands of the skin, contains many different waxes. It keeps the skin soft and prevents dehydration. Waxes are used commercially to make cosmetics, candles, ointments, and protective polishes.
