From Disodium Tellurapentathionate

Disodium tellurapentathionate reacted with piperidinium dithiocarboxylates in water or dichloromethane/water mixtures to form tellurium bis[dithiocarboxylates]  

Tellurium Bis[dithiobenzoate] (Preparation in Water) 6.0 g (25 mmol) of piperidinium dithiobenzoate are dissolved in 100 ml of water and 4.0 g (10 mmol) disodium tellurapentathionate are dissolved in 100 ml of water. The dithiobenzoate solution is added dropwise to the stirred tellurapentathionate solution, the mixture is stirred for 10 min at 20°, and then filtered. The solid is washed four times with 2 ml portions of water and then with 3 ml of methanol yield 3.9 g (90%) m.p. 190° (from benzene/methanol). 

Tellurium Bis[dithioacetate] (Preparation in Water/Dichloromethane) A solution of 4.4 g (25 mmol) of piperidinium dithioacetate in 100 ml of dichloromethane is added dropwise to a solution of 6.0 g (15 mmol) of disodium tellurapentathionate in 150 ml of water and the mixture is stirred at 18° for 10 min. The organic phase is then separated, dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered, and the solvent is evaporated from the filtrate under reduced pressure. The residue is washed with 5 ml of methanol yield 3.9 g (83%) m.p. 130 (dec.).

Tellurium Bis[diethyldithiocarbamate]6 2.18 g (5.0 mmol) of disodium tellurapentathionate dihydrate are dissolved in 100 m/ of water, stirred, and 50 ml of a 0.3 molar aqueous solution (15 mmol) of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate are added. The reaction mixture, which now contains a flesh-colorcd precipitate, is stirred for 5 min, and filtered. The solid is washed with water, dried over sulfuric acid under reduced pressure, and recrystallized from carbon disulfide/diethyl ether yield 2.11 g (99%) m.p. 164°. 

Disodium tellurapentathionate and diethylammonium diethylselenothiocarbamate reacted in aqueous solution to yield tellurium bix[diethylselenothiocarbamate. The compound was purified by precipitation from a concentrated chloroform solution upon addition of isopropanol6.
