From Aryl Benzenesulfonylimino Tellurium Chlorides

4-Methoxyphenyl benzenesulfonylimino tellurium chloride and 5,5-dimethyl-l,3-dioxo-cyclohexane in benzene solution reacted on addition of triethylamine to give 5,5-dime thy l-1,3-dioxo-2-cyclohexyl 5,5-dimethyl-l, 3-dioxo-2,2-cyclohexylidene 4-methoxyphenyl tellu- [Pg.715]

5-Dimcthyl-l,3-dioxo-2-cyclohexyl 5,5-Dimethyl-l,3-dioxo-2,2-cyclohexylidene 4-lVIethoxyphenyl Tellurium 1.9 g (4.5 mmol) of 4-methoxyphenyl benzenesulfonylimino tellurium chloride and 1.26 g (9 mmol) of 5,5-dimcthyl-l,3-dioxocyclohexane are suspended in 50 ml of benzene. A solution of 0.46 g (0.6 ml 4.5 mmol) of triethylamine in 10 / / of benzene is added dropwise to the stirred suspension and the mixture is allowed to stand for 1 day. The precipitate is filtered off, washed with cold acetonitrile, then with water, and dried in the air yield 1.8 g (79%) m.p. 132° (from acetonitrile). [Pg.716]

The corresponding 4-ethoxyphenyl derivative was similarly prepared yield 93% m.p. 145°. [Pg.716]
