ANTHONY ROCHE is Associate Professor in the School of English, Drama and Film at University College Dublin. Recent publications include The Cambridge Companion to Brian Friel (2.006) and the chapter on Contemporary Irish Drama 1940-2000 in The Cambridge History of Irish Literature (2006). In 2009 Palgrave Macmillan published a revised edition of Contemporary Irid> Drama From Beckett to McGuinness. His book Brian Friel Theatre and Politics will be pubhsbed in 2010.
