Raman scattering spectra have been determined for tetrathiafulvalene (26), tetraselenaful-valene (28) and tetramethyltetraselenafulvalene (9) (82MI43501). The frequencies and assignment for these compounds are compiled in Table 6. The Raman spectra of various radical cation salts were determined as well. Both the IR and Raman spectra of these compounds were simple, reflecting the high degree of symmetry in these molecules.

The fundamental vibrational frequencies and assignments given by Fox et al. (6 ) are adopted here. 

The vibrational representation for the adopted structure is 3A -r -r n. symmetry species by analogy with the frequencies and assignments for CIF and SF ( i 10). Since several of the assignments for SF (H.) are uncertain, more weight is given to the results for CIF. Bott (2) detected IR radiation in emission at 11.0-12.6...

Similar frequencies have been reported by Edwards et al. (4) from their study of the infrared spectra of gaseous MoOF the frequencies and assignments are estimated by comparison with data for XeOF (6). 

Similar frequencies, as well as additional frequencies, have been reported by Ward and Stafford (4), Edwards et al. (3 ), and Edwards and Jones ( ). The remaining frequencies and assignments are estimated with regard to the preceding references, the data for X OF (6), and results for MoOP (7). 

The vibrational spectra of S F have been studied in detail in three Independent investigations (5 -7 ). The reported fundamental frequencies show reasonable agreement but the assignments of the observed fundamentals made by Wilmshurst and Bernstein ( ) differ somewhat from those made by Dodd et al. (6). The adopted frequencies and assignments except for the torsion (Vg) and SFg rocking frequency (v p) are taken from Dodd et al. ( ). We estimate the unobserved fundamental at 150 cm . ...

IR spectra of amoxicillin trihydrate and amoxicillin sodium salt in a potassium bromide disc are shown in Figures 2 and 3 respectively. The frequencies and assignments of significant bands are listed below. 

The IR studies to date (69, 76, 140, 170—174) have mostly been of the Keggin acids and their salts. The low-frequency region (<300 cm-1) was in most cases not examined. Few Raman spectra have been recorded (173), and band polarisations have not been studied. In Table 4 a partial list of the reported frequencies and assignments for PW12O40 and SiWi2Ofo is given.

Govindarajan and Haridasan [73] used a rigid-ion approach, treating both cation and azide ion as point masses, to calculate the q = 0 modes of K-, Rb-, and CsN3. They compare their results with the tentative results of Bryant [43], in which intermolecular frequencies and assignments were based, primarily, on two-phonon peaks arising from combinations with internal azide modes. 

The XY,-type molecules are veiy rare. Both IF, and ReF, arc known to be pentagonal-bipy rami dal (D ,), and their vibrational spectra have been assigned completely, as shown in Table II-9. The A, ", and , vibrations are Raman active, and the A 2 and , vibrations are infrared active. According to Eysel and Seppelt, IF, undergoes minor dynamic distortions from 0 symmetry which cause violation of the Djj, selection rules for combination bands but not for the fundamentals. Normal coordinate analysis shows that the axial bonds are definitely stronger and shorter t ian the equatorial ones. Table 11-9 also lists the frequencies and assignments of the [U02Fs] ion of Dj, symmetry. 

The approximate parameters obtained above using perturbation theory were confirmed by a complete diagonalization pf the zf spin Hamiltonian. The transition frequencies and assignments obtained from such a calculation using the slightly modified hyperfine parameters = 55.0 MHz and...
