Fragmentation reactions enolate assisted

Mandei has provided the first example of an enolate-assisted fragmentation reaction. It was shown that the ester enolate (105), in which the activating ester is exocyclic to the ring, clearly undergoes in-traannular fragmentation to yield the 1,5-diene ester (106 Scheme 35). [Pg.1056]
