Predicted pictures or P-pictures or P-frames MPEG- 2 pictures that are coded with respect to the nearest previous I or P-picture. This technique is termed forward prediction. P-pictures provide more compression than I-pictures and serve as a reference for future P-pictures or B-pictures. P-pictures can propagate coding errors when P-pictures (or B-pictures) are predicted from prior P-pictures where the prediction is flawed. 

Next, we show a pseudo-code of a generic forward propagation algorithm that is a specific instance of the algorithms applied to control flow graph described in (Aho, Sethi Ullman, 1985) ... 

Figure 8.9 shows an example of an MLP implementation in a TNP array. The TNP code for forward propagating the code through the hidden layer of this example network is shown in Figure 8.10.
