Formation of a- Allyl Complexes

Some allyl complexes may react with le ligands to give a-allyl compounds. 

Many 7i-allyl complexes may spontaneously rearrange to o--allyl compounds (transformation from %e to 16 complexes). This is an important step in many catalytic reactions involving allyl complexes. 

Some allyl complxes may be reduced to alkene and the metal. The complex dodeca-2, 6, 10-triene-l,12-diylnickel is reduced by hydrogen with the formation of nickel and dodecane. Many other metal allyl compounds react in a similar manner.
