Formation from Phosphorus Compounds and Hydrogen or Hydrides

3 Formation from Phosphorus Compounds and Hydrogen or Hydrides [Pg.120]

The energetics of the mostly hypothetical formation reactions of PH3 from Hg and the molecules P2H4, PN, PHO, PFg, POF3, PSF3, HCP, H2CPH, H3CPH2, and (CH3)3PO were predicted by ab initio MO calculations at the STO 3-21G and STO 3-21G level [1]. [Pg.120]

Phosphane is obtained in nearly quantitative yield by reduction of PF3 or POF3 with UAIH4 in diethyl ether [2]. [Pg.120]

PH3 is evolved on warming a 1 2 mixture of (NPCys and UAIH4 in diethyl ether from 0 to 20 C. There is no reduction of (NPCya by LiH, even in boiling toluene [8]. [Pg.121]
