The Leuckart reaction was originally conceived using a chemical called ammonium formate (HCOONH4) which is very similar to formamide (HCONH2) [30]. It is pretty much believed that this molecule donates its ammonium part to the P2P and then the formate part turns into formic acid (HCOOH) which then acts to reduce the intermediate into its stable formyl derivative (don t ask). [Pg.110]

Matrix acidizing is the injection of acids into the formation at a pressure below the formation parting pressure (the pressure at which natural fractures are forced open by injected fluids). [Pg.19]

Most of these reservoirs have natural permeabilities below 10 mD, and the stimulation of their production is achieved through acid fracturing operations. Viscosified hydrochloric acid is pumped into wells at pressures larger than formation parting pressure. Irregular etching of the fracture walls by the acid is expected to create highly... [Pg.607]

The aim of a matrix acidizing job, which, in carbonate reservoirs, generally consists in injecting plain hydrochloric acid at pressures below the formation parting pressure, is to decrease 5 down to zero. [Pg.608]

Figure 5. Reaction probabilities vs. impact parameter for frei = 0.5 kcal/mol and Trot = 300 K. Part (a) is for nc-cib = 0. The solid lines are for FVib = 0 and the dotted lines are for Fvib = zpe. The squares are for total complex formation and the triangles for long-range complex formation. Part (b) is for nc-clh = 6 and fVib = 0 with ( , —) for total complex formation, (a, —) for long-range complex formation, and (o, ) for attaining the central barrier with one or no ITP (from ref. 38).
