Forman, Jean

Manuscript copies of this and related letters circulated widely, e.g. Bodleian, Dowdson MS 58, fo. 158 see also Bellany, Politics of Court Scandal, 85,95. During the public trial of Anne Turner, Jean Forman, Forman s widow, testified that on two occasions Turner came to her house to search for and burn letters and papers of Formans Rowse, Forman, i6v. White, Cast of Ravens, 123. 

Ashm. 208, fos. 136-42. In 1599 Forman married Jean Baker, Sir Edward Monninges sisters daughter . She was then 16, and he sometimes refers to her as Ann, but more often as Tronco .

For evidence that Forman made such rods, see a record of his wife Jean (still a virgin) cutting eight hazel rods at the appointed hour which were then immediately whitened and inscribed on 8 Feb. 1598 Ashm. 226, fo. 303.
