Figure 6. Experimentally observed and mathematically simulated regression lines of foam capacity of different percentages of glandless cottonseed flour in suspensions at various pH values. Experimental 4%, 10%, and 16% suspensions were run at pH 3.5, 6.5, and 9.5 to test the reliability of the multiple linear regression analysis. Quantitative data used in this analysis are in Figures 2 and 4. Figure 6. Multiple regression analysis is a useful statistical tool for the prediction of the effect of pH, suspension percentage, and composition of soluble and insoluble fractions of oilseed vegetable protein products on foam properties. Similar studies were completed with emulsion properties of cottonseed and peanut seed protein products (23, 24, 29, 30, 31). As observed with the emulsion statistical studies, these regression equations are not optimal, and predicted values outside the range of the experimental data should be used only with caution. Extension of these studies to include nonlinear (curvilinear) multiple regression equations have proven useful in studies on the functionality of peanut seed products (33). [Pg.163]

Fig. 3.77 depicts Ao(C) isotherms of NaDoS solution containing an electrolyte at a level chosen to ensure formation of particular types of black foam films. The curves are drawn according to the regressive spline analysis [364]. [Pg.227]
